为了适应某种特殊工艺要求,如在普通车床上切削大螺距螺纹,切削軸套斜油槽或较大幅度地降低动力头转速等,用减速皮带轮是比较便当的。这既不需改变原设备的结构和性能,又能达到某种应急要求(随时可以复原)。下目是具有行星齿轮机构的减速皮带轮传动示意图。H是皮带轮,1、2、3和4是圆柱齿轮,动力从皮带轮H传入,由齿轮4输给机床主轴,其速比按公式(1)计算
