This paper points out that in the nineteenth century, the theme of sociology is the nature and motivation of the process of social development and change. In the 20th century, especially to structural functionalism, the main focus is on the static analysis of social conditions. The author analyzes the reasons for this shift in study and points out that the critical reflections on non-historic sociological studies triggered by the crisis of Western societies since the 1960s have led to the revival of historical perspectives in sociology and the historical process Research has been re-emphasized by scholars on a new level.
