我的一个中学同学杨捷,二十年前定居美国,去年在一次校友聚会上重逢。当他知道我在电影界工作,感慨万端地与我谈了很多很多。做为一名海外华人,他对中国电影的了解、关注及许多独到见解,令我惊异和感动。 前不久,收到他的一封来信,寄来一篇不知发表在何报刊上的中文文章的复印件及他的附言。附言极短,仅几句话—— “现将海外有相当部分的人的意见寄给您参考。中国电影的前景还是要走自己的路,但切忌以猎奇之心去取悦洋人,结果如何,不言而喻。” 那篇中文文章——因果:《中国电影哪一天才拿得到奥斯卡?》。文章不长,是就第六十六届美国影艺学院金像奖中三部“呼声甚高”的中国影片在“最佳外语影片”奖中落选一事而论的。
One of my high school classmates, Yang Jie, settled in the United States two decades ago and met again at an alumni party last year. Not long ago, I received a letter from him and sent a copy of a Chinese article that I did not know published in any newspaper and his remark. The prospects for Chinese film or go their own way, but should not curiosity to please foreigners, the results of how , Self-evident. ”That Chinese article - causal:“ Chinese movie which get Oscar? ” The article is not long in the light of the fact that the three “high-pitched” Chinese films of the 66th Academy Award for Film and Television Fall in Outstanding Foreign Language Film Awards.
