20世纪初西方流行的设计风格东渐上海,并从上海向内地传播,以现代设计风格与古典复兴风格并行的状态呈现。面对中国社会中间阶层的不断壮大,传播到中国的西方设计风格以大众化为目标对原来服务于精英阶层的经典造物进行了再创造。由于中国新文人和有识之士的掌舵,中国的设计并没有与传统彻底决裂,而是进行了传承与创新并进、中西文化兼容并蓄的尝试,进而使本民族的传统文化经过创造性转化和融合以崭新的面貌得到视觉化呈现。
At the beginning of the 20th century, the western design style became popular in Shanghai and spread from Shanghai to the interior. The modern design style was in parallel with the classical revival style. In the face of ever-expanding middle class in China, the western design style spread to China re-created the classic creations that originally served the elite for the purpose of popularization. Due to the helm of new Chinese literati and people of insight, China’s design did not completely break with the tradition. Instead, it tried to make the inheritance and innovation go hand in hand with the compatibility of Chinese and Western cultures, and then made the traditional culture of this nation undergo creative transformation and integration The new look is visualized.
