近几年,中国的城市公共艺术在中国城市建设的告诉发展中逐渐成熟。公共艺术成为城市建设组成的一部分,甚至成为城市文明程度与实力的标志。通过对城市公共艺术内质的分析,了解城市公共艺术与城市文化内涵、精神的关系,希望通过对特定的对象—苏州城市公共艺术设计的研究,深入地分析一个城市的文化内涵对该城市公共艺术设计的作用,为我国现代城市公共艺术设计的创作提供一种新的思路、新的思考方式。随着苏州的开发和社会文化的多元化发展,城市公共艺术的观念与实践开始逐渐关注艺术与现代城市发展的关系,以及艺术与市民日常生活的关系。适时,因地,多维度的反映社会生活中的情感、文化,恰是公共艺术的重要职责和文化属性之一。
