The discontinuation syndrome that occurs after a sudden interruption of antihypertensive treatment has been reported extensively over the past decade and is of great importance in antihypertensive therapy. This article reviews the incidence of discontinuation syndrome, the reasons and to evaluate its importance in antihypertensive treatment. β-blockers Various β-blockers have been widely used in ischemic heart disease and hypertension over the past decade. They are among the most cardiovascular drugs with withdrawal syndrome
