苦荬菜又名苦麻菜,也有苦苣、苦菜等名称。为菊科,一年生或二年生。是我国北纬24度以南的野生草种,现已经过多年人工引种驯化,成为高产优质的栽培品种。是一种含蛋白质高、适口性强、营养全面的优质青饲料,尤以青割鲜喂畜禽最为佳。现将1986~1987年引种观察介绍如下。形态及生物学特征苦荬菜根生叶7~8片,丛生,平均叶长51厘米,叶宽9.4厘米,叶缘齿状。抽茎后主茎直立。上部有分枝,一般在20厘米以上。稀植情况下基部
