从对比修辞的角度看汉语文化在ESL写作中的影响

早期研究的重点主要集中在母语对二语写作的负迁移影响,Kaplan认为英语的语言修辞模式是直线型的,汉语的修辞模式是螺旋形的。随着90年代对比修辞学研究的发展和深入,发现ESL写作中修辞模式并不仅仅限于螺旋形,而是复杂的多。而汉语文化背景是ESL写作中思维模式的主要影响原因之一,本文分析了汉语文化在ESL写作中影响的主要表现和原因,并提出相应解决策略,希望能促进学生ESL写作水平的提高。

Early studies focused on the negative transfer of mother tongue to second language writing. Kaplan thought that the linguistic rhetoric model in English is linear and the Chinese rhetorical model is spiral. With the development of contrastive rhetoric in the 1990s, we find that the rhetorical model in ESL writing is not limited to spiral but more complex. The Chinese cultural background is one of the main reasons for thinking mode in ESL writing. This paper analyzes the main manifestations and causes of the impact of Chinese culture in ESL writing and proposes corresponding strategies to improve ESL writing.
