1952年9月3日,延边朝鲜族自治州成立。60年来,这棵枝繁叶茂的民族团结进步大树结出累累硕果,延边民族团结进步工作在全国创下了多个第一。60年间,延边召开了13次民族团结进步表彰大会,表彰了3164个模范集体和模范个人。1994年、1999年、2005年、2009年,延边连续4次获得“全国民族团结进步模范集体”荣誉称号。吉林省委常委、州委书记张安顺多次强调:“我们要始终把民族团结进步事业放在心上,抓在手上,像爱护眼睛一样珍视民族团结。”
September 3, 1952, Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture was established. Over the past 60 years, this lush national unity and progress tree has made great achievements. The work of uniting and progressing the nation in Yanbian has set a number of firsts across the country. During the 60 years, Yanbian held 13 awards for the celebration of national unity and progress, commending 3164 model collectives and model individuals. In 1994, 1999, 2005 and 2009, Yanbian won the honorary title of “Model Group of National Unity and Progress of All Nations” for four consecutive times. Zhang Anshun, member of the Standing Committee of Jilin Provincial Party Committee and state party committee, has repeatedly stressed: “We must always give priority to the cause of national unity and progress, hold on to our hands and cherish the same national unity as cherish our eyes.”
