Diabetic neuropathy is one of the common complications of diabetes. Nerve growth factor (NGF) plays an important role in the pathogenesis and development of diabetic neuropathy. NGF is a signaling molecule whose biological activity is regulated by tyrosine kinase receptor A and p75 neurotrophin receptors. NGF regulates the survival and growth of the central and peripheral nerves, and NGF selectively regulates the neurofibrillary neurons and sympathetic neurons. In animal models and clinical studies, there is evidence that NGF and diabetic neuropathy are closely related. Studying the relationship between NGF and diabetic neuropathy will be helpful to provide new research ideas for the prevention and treatment of diabetic neuropathy.
