In November 1934, following the long march of the Red Army in the Central Government, Fang Zhimin was instructed by the Central Military Commission of the CPC Central Committee to serve as Chairman of the Military Committee of the Red Army Corps and led half a southeast half-blooded battle of the Red Army Corps (North advance anti-Japanese advance team). On January 29, 1935, Fang Zhimin was mistakenly captured by heavily armed Kuomintang troops in the Longtousai village of Huaiyushan at the junction of the three provinces of Anhui, Zhejiang, and Jiangxi.
