船王身世包玉刚1918年生于浙江宁波。父亲包兆龙是一位殷实的商人,主要经营造纸厂、钱庄等。1984年,包玉刚回家乡宁波市探亲,在著名藏书楼“天一阁”查阅《包氏宗谱》时,发现自己的祖先是北宋龙图阁真学士包拯。这一发现,使他欣喜异常,作为历史名人的后裔,他感到由衷的自豪。包玉刚从小聪明过人。小学就读于家乡叶氏中兴学校,成绩优异。后来随父到上海,入吴淞船舶学校读书。抗日战争爆发后,全家避难衡阳,他开始投身金融界,先后在中央信托局衡阳办事处、中国工矿银行工作。他的精明、干练、憨厚、豪爽,很快得到上司赏识,被提升为重庆分行经理等职。抗战结束后,不到30岁的包玉刚,便当上了上海银行营业部经理、副总经理。这段经历,为他日后的崛起积累了
