Objective To investigate the correlation between glutamyl transferase (GGT), the percentage of hypoglycemic transferrin (% CDT) and alcohol intake and its clinical significance in the early diagnosis of alcohol related diseases. Methods 198 patients were divided into mild, moderate, severe alcohol consumption and non-alcoholic drinking four groups were detected GGT% CDT. Results The levels of GGT and% CDT in severe drinking group were significantly higher than those in other groups (all P <0.05), and increased with the increase of alcohol intake. The sensitivity and specificity of GGT and% CDT in diagnosing severe alcohol consumption were 47%, 82% and 10%, 97% respectively. The sensitivity and specificity of combined GGT and% CDT were 41% and 96%, which were higher than those of GGT alone and were higher than those of CDC alone . Conclusion GGT and% CDT have high diagnostic value for severe alcohol consumption.
