Introduction This paper aims to observe the ongoing capitalist industrialization process at the present stage of the Association of South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN) from the point of view that the development of productive forces and class struggle is a major force in advancing society. This paper does not use the method of world institutional analysis that focuses on the evaluation of “underdevelopment” and the theory of dependence of neo-Marxism. The purpose of the discussion was to indicate the economic achievements and structural imbalances that have been achieved among the ASEAN countries. The article reviews the specific contradictions and raises some questions such as the real wage trend, the absorption of labor force, income distribution and economic growth.
