中国近代职业教育萌芽于洋务运动时期。张之洞是洋务派的重要代表,也是中国近代著名教育家。在封建传统教育一统天下的情况下,他却能对培养职业技能专门人才的重要性予以高度的认识,并且亲身实践,兴办了大量的各种门类的新式学堂以培养应用型人才。张之洞在中国近代职业教育的发端中起到了重要的作用,而且推动了中国教育近代化的进程。
Modern Chinese occupation education sprouted in the Westernization Movement. Zhang Zhidong is an important representative of the Westernization School and a famous modern educator in modern China. With the feudal traditional education being dominated by the world, he was able to gain a high degree of awareness of the importance of cultivating skilled professionals in vocational skills and practiced a large number of new-style schools of various kinds to cultivate applied talents. Zhang Zhidong plays an important role in the beginning of modern vocational education in China, and has promoted the process of education modernization in China.
