配合花都区地下文物埋藏区的考古调查,广州市文物考古研究院会同洪秀全纪念馆(花都区博物馆)对被盗扰的全国第三次文物普查登记的“明代伦文叙母亲墓”进行了细致的考古调查,并对地表残存结构和被盗扰的墓穴上部做了简单清理。根据调查结果和露出的墓志铭确认,该墓主人为明代伦文叙原配夫人区氏墓,墓葬形制和地表结构均为明代风格。该墓葬无论是从墓园保存状况,还是从文化内涵、历史名人价值方面,都值得原址保护。
