高效抗反转录病毒治疗(HAART疗法)是公认的控制艾滋病病毒(HIV)的最好疗法之一,有明确的治疗靶点和机理,能有效抑制HIV的复制,从而使患者的免疫功能得以重建,可以明显降低患者的病死率及发病率,延缓了疾病进展,提高了患者的生存质量,取得了很大的成效。但是它有它的局限性。中医药在防治艾滋病方面有自己的优势:毒副作用小、可明显控制症状,提高患者的生存质量,提高或稳定患者的免疫功能。中医药如何在艾滋病的防治中发挥更大的作用,是大家一直探讨的问题。文章探讨了艾滋病中西医结合防治的必要性及思路与方法。
