Erythromycin has been reported to fail immediately below pH 4 with a pH of 6-8, and a significant reduction in titer of 1 hour below pH 5 has been reported. Chinese Pharmacopoeia 1977 edition provides erythromycin lactobionate (hereinafter referred to as erythromycin) soluble in glucose injection instillation (hereinafter referred to as glucose solution), and provides glucose solution pH value of 3.2 to 5.5.
