Nippon Steelmaking (OIC) Oita Iron Works commenced construction in December 1969 and completed the first blast furnace project by the end of January 1972. The plant has four thousand cubic meters of large blast furnace and continuous casting equipment. One of the most prominent features of the facility is the sea terminal for the handling of major raw materials (iron ore, coal). This pier is located at 4 from Oita
