茶道是日本文化的代表,是日本人心灵的寄托,自“茶圣”千利休开创空寂茶至今,茶道在日本一直处于长盛不衰的地位。茶道不仅是一门生活食饮方面的艺术,更是一种饱含深刻思想的综合文化体系。由于茶道与禅宗关系紧密,茶道甚至被认为是在家禅,茶道活动中所体现的“事物人境”中无不蕴含着禅意。茶道四谛——和敬清寂,是日本茶道思想上最重要的理念,也是最能直接反映出禅宗思想的文字概念。四百多年来,人们一直用它来阐释禅茶一味的化境,来体味茶道中蕴含的幽深禅意。“和敬清寂”作为禅的化身,已经演化成了一种思想,对日本人的国民性都产生了潜移默化的影响。
