短片(Short subject,Short film)是一种称呼,它早在电影诞生之初就已产生,用来形容各种形式和风格的电影。它是电影中最令人眼花缭乱的一种形式:既不是一种风格,也不是一个种类。我们在试图定义短片的时候,会不自觉地遇到一种两难境地,除了时间长短的区别之外,很难找到简明的标准或者清晰的特征运用于短片的定义。在现今的电影界,也并没有对一部短片的长度上限做出明确的规定。在北美通常将长度介于20到40分钟的电影称作短片,而在欧洲、拉美和澳洲则可以更短一些,比如新西兰将长度介于1到15分钟的电影称作短片。美国电影艺术与科学学院将其设定为40分钟,互联网电影数
Short subject (Short film) is a term used to describe movies of various forms and styles as early as the birth of the movie. It is one of the most dazzling forms of a movie: neither a style nor a genre. When we try to define short films, we unconsciously encounter a dilemma, except for the difference between the length of time, it is difficult to find a concise standard or clear features used in the definition of the movie. In today’s film industry, there is no explicit stipulation on the length of a short film. Movies in North America usually range in length from 20 to 40 minutes, while in Europe, Latin America and Australia can be shorter. New Zealand, for example, calls movies lasting between 1 and 15 minutes in length. The American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences set it to 40 minutes for Internet movies
