据了解,在正常使用的车辆尤其是小车中,有相当部分的驻车制动器形同虚设,有的完全失效,有的达不到规定的技术要求。出现这一现象的主要原因是一些驾驶员对驻车制动器的作用缺乏足够的认识,片面认为驻车制动器的作用仅是保证停车不致滑溜。而停车挂档不用驻车制动器既可达到目的,又方便省事。因而视驻车制动器为可有可无的机件,不按规定保养和调整,损坏或发生故障也不及时修复或排除。笔者认为,这种观点和做法是车辆事故的一大隐患,
