我的艺术实践是从上世纪70年代初开始,伴随着中国的时代变革走过来的。在那个时期,文化生活及艺术信息都是闭塞的。我们所能看到的西方绘画,只有部分俄罗斯画家的作品,在教学方面也基本上延续了前苏联的教学体系;在艺术方向上提倡艺术为工农兵大众服务,要求画家深入生活,实地写生,学习口号是“以创作带基本功”。当年的一本《工农兵形象选》成了我们这一代人当时学画的范本,那时,我除了画素描打基础,也搜集素材搞创作。
