1964年,缝补厂被石油部誉为“勤俭办厂模范”。1966年,周总理肯定了这种“缝补精神”。它是大庆艰苦创业精神的“六个传家宝”之一。1960年冬,是大庆油田会战最艰难的时候。几万人一下子来到千里冰封的大草原,不要说找油打井,就是衣食住行也遇到了数不清的困难。石油工人没黑没白忙着打井,衣服破了顾不上补,脏了也顾不得洗,手套磨得露了手指头,还照样在冰天雪地里忘我工作着。
