日本工业技术院名古屋工业技术研究所的非平衡工艺研究院,开发了从再生铝合金中除去铁的脱铁技术。为提高再生铝合金的再利用率,必须尽量减少其中的杂质。但是,其中最易混入铝合金中,损害产品机械性质的材料是铁。用工业方法除去已在熔液中熔化的铁质是一大难题。名古屋工艺研究所,在铝合金熔液中生成铝一铁系金属化合物,使容器旋转,利用离心力,将铁质多的部分集中到外周部从而分离出来。实验结果表明,从含铁2%的铝合金中,可除去85%左右的铁,可制成高质量的含铁0.3%以下的铝合金。

Industrial methods to remove iron that has been melted in the melt are a big problem. Nagoya Process Research Institute produces aluminum-iron-based metal compounds in the aluminum alloy melt and rotates the container. Centrifugal force concentrates the iron-rich portion to the periphery to separate it. The experimental results show that about 85% of the iron can be removed from the aluminum alloy containing 2% of iron, and high quality aluminum alloy containing less than 0.3% of iron can be made.
