我在1986年第4期《中国水土保持》上介绍过这位热心水土保持事业的领导同志。近几年来,这位“水保迷”又是怎样关心和支持水土保持工作的呢?我就近两年来与他的接触及了解到的一些情况作一简介。 周新华同志虽已年近古稀,但他对水土保持工作的酷爱一如既往,有很强烈的事业心,1992年全国第五次水土保持工作会议上被评为全国水土保持先进个人。他现在是山东水土保持学会理事长,千方百计通过开展学会活动,充分调动各有关方面科技人员的积极性,为水土保持工作的开展出谋献策。如1992年他协助临沂地区邀请和组织北京有关方面的领导、专家到沂蒙山区考察水土保持小流域综合治理,对进一步搞好沂蒙山区治理开发起到积极作用,增强了外界对沂蒙山区水保工作的了解和支持,也促进沂蒙山区打破封闭走向开放。他还经常到水土流失严重地区进行调查,总结验证,对各地的水土保持工作了如指掌,并大力宣传和推广各地的成功经验。
I introduced the enthusiastic leader of soil and water conservation on the fourth issue of “Soil and Water Conservation in China” in 1986. In recent years, how does this “water conservation and aggravating” care and support soil and water conservation work? I have briefed me on some of the contacts and understandings that I have made during the past two years. Although Zhou Xinhua was nearly seventy years old, his love for soil and water conservation work is as usual as ever. He has a strong sense of dedication and was named the advanced individual in soil and water conservation in 1992 at the Fifth National Soil and Water Conservation Work Conference. He is now chairman of Shandong Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, doing everything possible to fully mobilize the enthusiasm of all relevant scientific and technological personnel through the activities of the Institute, make suggestions for the implementation of soil and water conservation work. For example, in 1992, he helped Linyi invite and organize relevant leaders and experts from Beijing to inspect the comprehensive harnessing of small watersheds in Yimeng Mountain, which played a positive role in further improving the management and development of Yimeng Mountainous Areas and strengthening the work of water and soil conservation in Yimeng Mountain Understanding and support, but also to promote Yimeng Mountain break the closure to open. He also frequently conducts surveys in areas with serious soil erosion, summarizes and verifies, knows well all aspects of soil and water conservation work, and vigorously publicizes and promotes the successful experiences in various places.
