中国东部地学大断面的编制和研究是中国岩石圈计划全国委员会协调的中国地学大断面项目的一部分,同时也是国际岩石圈计划八十年代后五年的重要课题——全球地学断面计划(Global Geoscience Transects简称GGT)的一个组成部分。八十年代中期,国际岩石圈委员会总结北美洲大陆——海洋断面计划执行十年后的经验为基础,拟定出全球地学断面计划。目的是以统一的格式来编制分布在全球各关键部位的200多条断面(最后落实为130余条断面),提供大洋到大陆过渡带、大陆地壳和岩石圈的形成和动力学演化模式,并进行对比。通过综合研究来了解全球不同地质单元的岩石圈结构、成因和动力学模式。中国岩石圈计划全国
The preparation and study of the large section of geosciences in eastern China is part of the large-scale geosciences project coordinated by the China National Committee for Lithosphere Planning and an important issue of the International Lithosphere Program in the second half of the 1980s - Global Geoscience Transects referred to as GGT) an integral part. In the mid-1980s, the International Commission on Lithospheric (ILCC) developed a global geosciences section plan based on the experiences of a decade after the implementation of the North American continent-ocean section program. The aim is to produce more than 200 sections (eventually implemented as more than 130 sections) distributed in all key parts of the world in a uniform format and provide the formation and dynamic evolution of the continental-continental transitional zone, the continental crust and lithosphere comparing.
