中国近代是外国“新名词”输入的第二个高峰期。外来“新名词”在中国近代的引入，经过了输入科技新词语阶段和引进政治、文化新词语的时代。“新名词”的输入解决了中国原有词汇的不足，促进了中国近代文体的解放，也给中国文学带来了新的文化气息，因而具有深刻的文化内涵。它也提醒人们注意“五四”新文化及新文学运动并不是一个突发性事件，其中的诸多新思想在近代已开始萌芽了。
Modern China is the second peak of foreign “new nouns” input. The introduction of foreign “new nouns” in modern China has passed the stage of inputting new words and phrases of science and technology and introducing new words of politics and culture. The input of “new nouns” solves the shortcomings of the existing Chinese words, promotes the liberation of Chinese modern style of writing, and brings new cultural flavor to Chinese literature. Therefore, it has profound cultural connotation. It also reminded people of the fact that the May 4th new culture and the New Literature Movement were not a sudden event. Many of these new ideas have begun to sprout in modern times.
