当今世界,数码化信息量正以爆炸式的速度增加,客观上要求作为存储设备的硬盘必须不断提高存储能力,来适应这一信息爆炸的时代。本文在剖析计算机硬盘物理构造及特性的基础上,深入探讨了计算机硬盘的信息写入从纵向磁化向垂直磁化方式转化及硬盘向高密度化、省电化、小型化、大容量化转化过程中的技术革新问题,证明了垂直磁记录方式远远超出纵向磁化方式的高密度记录特性,并确立了单磁极磁头与双层记录媒介相组合的垂直磁记录基本方式。计算机硬盘、光盘、磁盘、闪存等的可存储总量与生成信息总量之间的差距逐年扩大,最小字节的大小却已接近记录磁性层的物理性极限。今后要提高超高密度记录,还需要与更先进的信息管理系统的开发并行。

The gap between the total amount of storable and the generated information of computer hard disks, optical disks, magnetic disks, flash memories has been expanding year by year, and the size of the smallest byte is close to the physical limit of the recording magnetic layer.
