马士达,别署玄庐、骥者,江苏太仓人。一九四三年生。现执教于南京师范大学美术系书法专业。十年前,由于在《书法》杂志社举办的全国篆刻大赛中获奖,马士达亦在书坛崭露头角。此后,他参加艺术展览或编入作品集的,大多是印章作品。这样,马士达在书艺及理论研究方面的建树,便鲜为人知了,这实在与他的为人有关。了解马士达其人,对于我们研究他的艺术成就,是十分重要的。马士达给人的印象,不是那种风流倜傥、才华横溢的才子相,而是一位地道的“老黄牛”。他质朴笃实,讷讷寡言,不苟言笑,颇重感情却不善交际,甚至遇事的反应也显得比常人迟钝些。他没有那些值得炫耀、令人羡慕的高等艺术院校的学衔,只有中学学历。他从六十年代初开始学习书法篆刻,那时,他只是县城里的一位工人,没有名师的指授,全凭业余自
Ma Shida, another department Xuanlu, Ji who Taicang, Jiangsu. Born in 1943. Now teaching in Nanjing Normal University Art Department of calligraphy. Ten years ago, Ma Shida came to prominence in the book industry as a result of winning a prize at the National Seal Cutting Competition organized by the “Calligraphy” magazine. Since then, he participated in art exhibitions or into the collection, mostly stamp works. In this way, Ma Shida in the art and theoretical research achievements, little-known, and this is really his man-related. Understanding Ma Shida’s people is very important for us to study his artistic achievements. Ma Shoda impression, not the kind of romantic, talented wit, but an authentic “old ox.” His simple and honest, naive, unsmiling, rather sentimental but not sociable, and even the reaction of the incident appears to be slower than ordinary people. He does not have the academic and enviable qualifications of a higher art school, with only a high school degree. He studied calligraphy and seal cutting since the early 1960s, when he was only a worker in the county seat.
