新疆生產兵團阿克蘇墾區勝利八場在烏克蘭0246號混什品種田間,發現了一株奇異的小麥。這株小麥共有六個分蘗,在主茎上抽出三個穗,均勻分佈在莖秆的四、玉、六节上,我們把它叫做“三穗麥”,是本地紅冬麥變異而成。最上一個麥穗较長,約10厘米;中间一個稍短,約4厘米。三個麥穗共有小穗37個,結籽131粒,千粒重為57.9克,籽粒紅色,粒長
