在“两年为期”的“严打”整治斗争中,厦门市公安局取得了良好的战绩。厦门市公安局挂牌督办案件177起,破135起。福建省公安厅挂牌督办案件8起,破7起。公安部挂牌督办案件1起,破1起。同时厦门市公安局还相继破获了同安“2002·03·12”4人被杀案和“2003·02·26”33万元抢夺案、湖里“2001·03·08”入室抢劫案、集美“2001·03·21”绑架学童案、湖里“2001·12·18”杀人碎尸案、开元“2001·05·25”涉恶伤害(致死)案和“2002·03·31”持枪杀人案等一批有影响的大案。
