This paper describes an automatic particle size detection system based on ultrasonic penetration and computerized signal processing. Due to the proper frequency selection and the logarithmic transformation capability of the electronic instrument, an indication of the linearity of the sample grain size is obtained at the output of the electronic instrument. According to the experimental results, the regression equation of the ultrasonic indication of the grain size levitation was obtained. Discusses the main factors affecting grain measurement. Some of these larger flaws can also be explored with this system.
