张岱年先生是中国现代学术史上一位有卓越贡献的哲学家、哲学史家。他的学术创作活动始于上世纪30年代,而当时思想学术界正值中西文化激烈碰撞时期,如何建构新的思想理论模式并运用这种能够超越传统又不背离传统的新理论、新方法,对中国哲学和中国文化加以调和改造,使其成为新时代的思想文化资源,这是摆在张岱年及当时中国学术界面前的重要历史任务。张岱年先生提出“唯物、理想、解析,综合于一”的“综合创新”理论和方法,回应中西文化论战中的二元对立思维,同时撰写《中国哲学大纲》,阐明中国哲学的基本范式和精神特点,充分体现了张先生沉思涵泳、卓然标新的学术涵养和创造精神。
