The contents and contents of calcium, magnesium, iron and manganese in whole blood of 35 pregnant women and their newborns born in Xining City were measured and analyzed. The results showed that the three elements of maternal calcium, magnesium and iron were lower than umbilical cord blood, the difference was highly significant (P <0.01). There was a positive correlation between magnesium and iron content of maternal blood and umbilical cord blood (r = 0.423 , P <0.05 and r = 0.516, p <0.01), while there was no correlation between calcium and manganese (P> 0.05). Maternal calcium and iron in the case of insufficient, still have to meet the needs of the fetus.
