水墨作为中国当代艺术中的一支,曾和油画等其他艺术门类一起构建起了纷繁的新潮美术,然而九十年代以来的当代水墨,虽然也偶有一些新的技法和图式等形式方面的探讨,但水墨的当代发展走向成为被长期搁置的棘手问题。艺术家晁海的作品一直以浑厚大气的积墨笔法著称,沉潜十年处心钻研,在当代水墨领域独树一帜;而现任中国美术馆馆长的范迪安先生对当代水墨现状的关注同样由来已久,他们两位的对谈,透过晁海的作品直面当代水墨领域面临的切腹之痛,沉着、恳切。
Ink and Wash, as one of the contemporary Chinese art, has created a great variety of trendy art with other art genres such as oil painting. However, contemporary ink painting since the nineties has occasional new forms of techniques and schemas However, the contemporary development of ink and wash has become a thorny issue that has been shelved for a long time. The works of artist Chao Hai, who has been known for his ink-and-ink style of vigorous atmosphere, has been immersing himself in a decade of painstaking work and is unique in contemporary ink painting. However, Fan Di’an, the director of the National Art Museum of China, also has a long history of contemporary ink painting. The two talks, through Chao Hai’s works, face the pain, calmness and sincerity of contemporary ink painting.
