High-quality photovoltaic InSb diodes are coupled with field-effect transistor (FET) multiplex (MUX) lines to achieve useful charge integration. A tentative detector assembly has been developed that combines field-effect transistor multiplexers with 128 InSb diode line arrays. The first junction field effect transistor (J-FET) preamplifier, the pixel reset switch, the multiplexer, and the InSb array are housed in a small volume (1-3 / 4 in x 1 x 1/8 in) Mixed microcircuitry. It also incorporates a low-noise preamplifier layout of low video line capacitance inherent in hybrid production technology. Measurements show that the signal to noise ratio exceeds 1000: 1 and the response uniformity is ± 2%. The example image shows minute details, confirming that the estimated radiometric sensitivity is 0.01 K NE Δt (noise equivalent temperature difference).
