A considerable amount of copper, lead and zinc resources in the world are produced in large-scale bedded sulfide deposits in sedimentary rocks. Recently, many geologists have used bacteria to explain the formation of these deposits during sedimentation. Layered Deposits Generated by Bacteria Features: Integrated, Extended in Plane, with Multiple Layers of Fe-Pb-Zn-Cu Sulfide. Most metal sulphide layers are single mineral layers, that is, consist of only one mineral. Foliage of sediment trapped between thin layers of sulphide - dolomitic shale or siltstone containing common carbonaceous matter, often rich in potassium. Thin veins or other confluence of sulfides are also frequently seen through cut planes. Many of Australia’s most important deposits belong to this type, with the following typical deposits:
