在当今瞬息万变的信息社会中,信息的可靠性和及时性成了企业竞争的关键。因特网的高速发展,使当今社会成为网络联通的社会。许多大企业的通信平台传输数据爆炸性地增长,使得其存储能力要求以每年平均50%~100%的增长。传统的网络架构面对源源不断数据流显得力不从心。这就要法语把服务器与存储设备集中起来,以便统一地管理数据。数据管理的实质是存储管理,完善的存储策略既要全面支持现有企业环境中开放式多平台存储环境,又要应付当今业务应用中数据的飞速增长。当今的存储管理要求创建一种独立于LAN,统一的、扩展性很好的存储架构,因此,存储域网络(SAN)就应运而生。
