山西省稷山县的山林中散生着一种花朵白色的野生牡丹,因其数量不多,分散难寻,鲜为外界所知。 1988年,洛阳市牡丹研究所从稷山县引进了几株野生牡丹,经观察确认是牡丹的一个原始种,准确名称应叫矮牡丹(Paeoniasuffruticosa Var.spontanea),特点是株型矮小,高度约50厘米;单花顶生,白色;二回三出复叶,叶背及叶轴有短柔毛,顶生小叶宽卵圆形,三裂至中部,裂片再浅裂。外观上有别于一般栽培牡丹。经染色体组型分析,其染色体数目为2n=10,其中4对染色体属m型,1对属st型。核型公式是K(2n)=2X=10=8m+2st,这与洛阳现代栽培品种如赵粉、朱砂垒、鸦片紫、凤丹等极其相似。这些栽培品种,很可能是由矮牡丹经天然杂交
Mountain Jishan County, Shanxi Province, scattered in the wild with a flower of white wild peony, because of its small number, dispersed hard to find, fresh little known to the outside world. In 1988, Luoyang Peony Institute introduced several wild peonies from Jishan County, which was confirmed as an original species of peony by observation. The exact name of the tree is called Paeoniasuffruticosa Var.spontanea, which is characterized by short plant type and height of about 50 cm; single flower terminal, white; two back to three out of the compound leaves, leaves back and leaf shaft pubescent, terminal leaflets broadly ovoid, trismus to middle, lobes and then lobed. Appearance is different from the general cultivation of peonies. Chromosome group analysis, the number of chromosomes 2n = 10, of which four pairs of chromosomes are m-type, one pair is st-type. Karyotype formula is K (2n) = 2X = 10 = 8m + 2st, which is very similar to modern cultivars of Luoyang, such as Zhao Fen, Zhu Sha base, opium purple, Feng Dan and so on. These cultivars are likely to be naturally crossed by dwarf peonies
