In the second half of 1982, the activities of the Electrotechnical Society mainly focused on small-scale academic activities. For example, in August there was a seminar on electromagnetic fields (Harbin) and a short course on numerical calculation of high voltage electrostatic fields (Shanghai); in September there was a symposium on linear motors (Kunming)
