数字图书馆是利用计算机技术、网络技术和数字化技术实现的跨地区、跨国家的信息资源传递与服务系统。元数据是信息资源共享与交换技术发展中的重要问题,是数字图书馆建设的基础工作。元数据的描述对象主要是网络环境下的电子资源,包括数据集、文本信息、图像、音乐和其他任何电子化事物的数据信息。元数据适用于描述任何网络数据和资源,是促进网络信息资源组织和获取的数据,对数字图书馆的发展起着重要作用。
Digital library is a trans-regional and cross-national information resource transfer and service system that uses computer technology, network technology and digital technology. Metadata is an important issue in the development of information resource sharing and exchange technology and is the foundation of digital library construction. Metadata describes the object is mainly electronic resources under the network environment, including data sets, text messages, images, music and other electronic data information.
