The novel of Milan Kundera focuses on the exploration of the possibility of man’s “existence,” which is divided into two manifestations: one is the manifestation of behavior and the other is the manifestation of spirit. The former mainly includes two kinds of behaviors: “kitsch” and “forgetting”, while the latter mainly includes “imagery”. The existence of propositions is a question of universal significance of philosophy. It leaps from the limitations of morality and ideology, and regards the existence of human existence and behavior in a more realistic and life-close way. In response to this proposition, In order to tie in with the performance of the theme of Being, Kundera borrowed resources of European culture such as French culture on the basis of Czech society and culture. And such a theme of existence is closely linked with the logic of the inherent development of European modernism and modernist art.
