玉米是饲料之王,但当前推广的玉米品种,均以生产籽粒为主,满足不了畜牧业发展的要求。为此,作者选育了饲粮兼用玉米饲玉一号、饲玉二号。这两个品种,其籽粒产量达到中产水平,而突出的是成熟时茎叶青绿,适合作青贮饲料利用。该品种生育期较长,植株高大,对水肥敏感,栽培时需麦垄套种或铁茬播种,种植密度以每亩3000——3500株为宜,还必需在抽雄前及时浇水,严防“卡脖旱”。
