1950年9月4日,北京中南海。上午9时许,中华人民共和国政务院总理兼外交部长办公室里,周恩来正坐在桌前批阅几份紧急公文。秘书进来汇报:“刚才接到公安部的电话,说昨天晚上南京发生了一起抢劫案,前埃及驻华使馆遭到抢劫,代办阿巴提身负重伤。”“哦!”周恩来两道浓眉一耸,马上放下手里的文件,伸手接过秘书递过来的电话记录。看了两遍,略一沉思,道:“这个案件对于新中国和埃及以及中东地区阿拉伯国家的关系都有重大影响,我们必须从政治上高度予以重视。你给南京粟裕打个电话,让公安机关立即严查。”
