1998年3月初,去北京参加第九届全国政协一次会议。3月3日晚,跟李行健见通电话,说我想去医院看看吕先生,请问他怎样才能看得到。行健兄说,他先跟医院联系一下,然后同我一道去。4日上午,行健陪我去协和医院,同行的还有苏州大学黄岳洲先生和我的女儿。我买了一大束鲜花,捧进了病房,当时吕先生正在睡着,我站在他的身边拍了两张照片。没几分钟,吕先生醒来了,行健在他耳边说:“邢福义看您来了。”老人家睁开了眼睛,微微笑了笑,又微微点了点头,行健和医院特护员都高兴地说:“还认得你！还认得你！”
