北京大学理工两学院全體教授講助為擁護政府加强国防建設號召,响应‘全國科聯、科普聯合宣言’联名發表嚴正声明,全文如下: 第二届和大决議的莊嚴號召,道出了全世界人民的堅定不移的信心;我們‘决不能等待和平,必須爭取和平。’為了更有力地打擊帝國主義侵略者,全國科联、科普發表了聯合宣言(見12月12日人民日報),號召全國理、工、農、医各方面的自然科学工作者團結一致,把一切力量贯注在鞏固國防的工作中,为爭取持久的和平而鬥爭。我們堅决擁護這個宣言,愿意盡一切力量為鞏固祖國國防而奮鬥。美帝國主義者在侵略朝鮮的戰爭中,已經遭受了英勇的朝鮮人民軍与我國人民志願部队的严重打擊,伹是,侵略是帝國主義的本質,它们是决不會就此罷休的。杜艾會談的結果就已表明它們打算继续擴
In order to support the government’s call for strengthening national defense construction, all professors at Peking University’s Science and Technology Institute made a solemn statement in response to the joint statement of the “National Science Focal Point and Science Popularization Conference”. The full text is as follows: The solemn call of the 2nd and the Great Resolution, The steadfast confidence of the people of the world; we must never wait for peace and must strive for peace. In order to crack down on the imperialist aggressors more vigorously, the All-China Federation of Science and Technology and the Popular Science published a joint declaration (see the People’s Daily on December 12) calling on all the science and technology workers in science, industry, agriculture and medicine in the country to unite as one, All forces are absorbed in the work of consolidating national defense and fighting for lasting peace. We resolutely support this declaration and are willing to make every effort to strive for the consolidation of our national defense. In their war of aggression against North Korea, the U.S. imperialists have already suffered a serious blow from the heroic Korean People’s Army and the volunteer forces of our country.
