Cognitive linguistics is a research method, which is a new discipline that builds up the human language acquired through the observation and accumulation of daily experience in the daily life of people. It mainly expounds the relationship between human cognitive ability and language, Cognitive linguistics also describes the relationship between the semantics, vocabulary, and syntax of a language. Hemingway’s novel “In a Foreign Country” is an autobiographical short story, but it is worth studying for a long time. By studying the design of Hemingway ’s narrative skills and narrative psychology in his “different country” and the various rich emotions implied in the novels, this essay tries to find out from the aspects of lexical level, discourse level, syntactic level and so on
