热带辐合带(ITCZ)是热带海洋上的重要天气系统,在天气图上表现为对流层中、低层的一低气压气流汇合带。由于有潮湿空气的辐合,ITCZ不仅是一个对流活动带,而且其中还常伴有大小不同的气旋性涡旋存在,成为产生热带降水天气的主要系统之一。同时,台风一类强烈的災害性天气系统的发生发展又常与ITCZ的活动有密切关系。因此,有关ITCZ的研究一直为热带气象工作者所重视,有过不少分析讨论。气象卫星观测出现之后,常可从卫星云图上看到赤道附近存在着一条非常长的对流云带,有时它甚至可以环绕整个地球,这就是ITCZ云带。通过卫星资料,人们更进一步认识了ITCZ中积云对流和涡旋活动的特征。
Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is an important weather system on the tropical oceans. It shows on the weather map as a low-pressure airflow convergence zone in the middle and lower troposphere. Due to the convergence of humid air, ITCZ is not only a convective belt, but also often accompanied by cyclone vortices of different sizes, making it one of the major systems that produce tropical precipitation. Meanwhile, the occurrence and development of a severe catastrophic weather system such as a typhoon is often closely related to the activities of ITCZ. Therefore, the research on ITCZ has been taken seriously by tropical meteorological workers and there have been many analytical discussions. After the appearance of meteorological satellite observations, it is often seen from the satellite image that there is a very long convective cloud band near the equator, and sometimes it can even surround the entire earth. This is the ITCZ cloud band. Through satellite data, people are more aware of the characteristics of cumulus convection and vortex activity in the ITCZ.
