The 1980s was an unusual period of socio-economic development in China. The reform and opening up has accelerated the historical process of China’s socialist construction. The development of the national economy, the improvement of people’s living standards, and the improvement of urban and rural health care conditions have created a good environment for further improving the health of residents. In the past ten years, the improvement of the health of the residents has been summarized in the following main aspects: the mortality rate of the infants, especially the infants and young children, continues to decline, and the average life expectancy has increased. The patterns of the occurrence, development and prevalence of the disease are now occurring.
